Unknowns - Springbrook Rescue — Uncovering Gondwana

The Sphingidae family comprises more than 1,400 species in some 200 genera within three subfamilies (Macroglossinae, Smerinthinae and Sphinginae). The ancestral distributions for these subfamilies have been strongly implied as Old World suggesting an Old World origin for the Sphingidae as a whole.
